Inertia Properties of Point Mass – AQWA

      Hello,

when adding a Point Mass to a geometry, you have to include the inertial properties (Radius of Gyration or Direct Input of Inertia). Must it be referred to the CoG of the Point Mass or to the Origin of Fixed Reference Axes (FRA)?

      Cheers,

      Eugenio

Good morning, these mass properties are referred according to the CoG and the coordinate system (aka: x, y, z) is according to the fra.

      I hope this helps.

      Thank you Ingrid,

just for confirming, the inertia values must be for the axes that pass through the center of the FRA, not through the center of the COG of the Point mass.

      Cheers,

      Eugenio
