SubscriberDear all,
I have a simple geometry. I have tried several methods to mesh the tube. Most of them have failed in the inflation part. I decide to mesh each meshing the core and near-wall mesh separately. However I found the problem with the interface of each mesh. I read some thread they said that it needs to have similar mesh/quality between interface of each mesh. But I don't succeed.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you for your help
Regards
Teguh

Ansys EmployeeWhat are you going to use the mesh in?

SubscriberDear rwoolhou
Thank you for your reply. Actually my problem is related to my previous post https://forum.ansys.com/forums/topic/how-to-mesh-internally-grooved-tube-in-icem-cfd/
I want to observe heat transfer and pressure drop in the ribs tube. I want to make Hexa mesh in the core of the tube and prism mesh as I mention in my old post. I try to make a similar mesh as in the old post. I have tried in ANSYS meshing but I fail. The mesh is not well connected hence the contour and streamlines discontinue especially in the interface part. So, I try to use in ICEM CFD. I tried to mesh by one body or slice one body into two mesh. But, it still fails. I get the figure that I post by mesh each part separately and merge mesh into one mesh. However even I set the same value in ICEM on the interface mesh cannot be connected completely.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you for your help

Ansys EmployeeYou need the common surface(s) to be connected. In Workbench meshing this is done via share topology (or multi body parts). Not sure in ICEM CFD as I've not used it in about 15 years.

SubscriberDear rwoolhou
Thank you for your help. I have tried in icem but it's not easy but I have found how to make conformal mesh by using ansys meshing. I share in here if there is anybody face the same problem as mine. I make my geometry in Space claim, then I edit it in Design Modeller to I unite two different body through form new part option. I follow the step in this link (
). Then, make a mesh in Ansys Meshing. I works.
Thank you
Best regards

Ansys EmployeeThat works. If you click on the Workbench tab and use Share Topology with all the geometry in one component you get the same effect as the multibody part.
