Internal Combustion engine simulation

Internal combustion engines either spark ignition or compression ignition have peculiarities for simulation. basically, it comprises the following steps.

      geometry importing and decomposition

      mesh generation

      problem set up

solution and result, like the regular ansys simulation but each cell operation in ICE is a different ball game.

I'm still trying to figure out the best ANSYS version for ICE simulation. also whether ICE forte is better than ICE fluent

Currently it depends on what you're trying to model, and in how much detail.  There's currently more Fluent expertise in the community which may be a factor if you need help.

I'm modelling a CI engine combustion using different fuels blends of diesel and biodiesel. i want to study the combustion and emission properties of both the fuel blends as well as the engine.

Probably Forte then: unfortunately we're reliant on the community for help with that solver.

      Hi Sanusi,

Can you tell us about how you mix diesel and biodiesel?
