SubscriberHi, I have a question
The top comment on the Lifehacker page linked below suggests keeping a spare capacitor on hand to replace if it fails, presumably if you're handy enough to do it (I like to think that I am, I know how to bleed a capacitor, etc.).
I have read the blog:
https://www.apogeeweb.net/electron/how-to-test-a-run-capacitor-with-a-multimeter.html
Do these truly degrade after around 5 years? Is this a feasible plan?
My heat pump is a Mitsubishi Hyper Heat P-series, model PUZ-HA36NHA4, and the capacitor appears to be R01 E22 255 MAIN SMOOTHING CAPACITOR (but I'm having difficulties finding one).
Thanks in advance for your suggestion

It looks like the question does not belong to simulation related but on physics (spare capacitor).
So as Ansys employees, we may not be able to provide you correct advice.
We will leave it to the forum community who can guide you better.
Thanks Chinmay

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
