Is it possible to interface Lumerical with Python?

I wanted to know if it is possible to interface numerical with Python?

Also, in the materials explorer where we can fit a model to material (epsilon vs wavelength) data, is it possible to have custom models which can have sin and cosine terms? Currently, we can only change the fit tolerance and number of coefficients of the polynomial function.

Q1. I wanted to know if it is possible to interface numerical with Python?
A1. Yes, it is possible. Please have a look at the following documentation for Python API.

Q2. in the materials explorer where we can fit a model to material (epsilon vs wavelength) data, is it possible to have custom models which can have sin and cosine terms?
A2. Our Multi-Coefficient Material Model (MCM) uses a specific set of basis functions, which are hidden to users for proprietary reasons. It is not possible to use custom models for the fitting.
