SubscriberI am running simulations on a model which could be reduced down to a 1/4 model if necessary, however, I would rather be able to show the stress, force, displacement etc. simulations on the whole model instead of 1/4 model.nI am wondering is it necessary to ALWAYS use symmetry when possible to reduce the computational time or if the computational time is relatively low on the full model - is it acceptable to neglect its symmetry ?nThe computational time is about 2 mins which I believe to be an acceptable solve time considering some complex simulations can take hours.. is there a standard for an acceptable solve time? -

SubscribernIt's not necessary to use symmetry, but it is often easy because two planes constrain 5 DOF, leaving you to only constrain the last DOF. If you do a full model, now you have to figure out how to constrain all 6 DOF.nIf you use Symmetry Regions, you can expand the solution and show results on the full model though you only solved the 1/4 model.nIt's up to you how long you want to wait for your solution.n
