Is there a tool to see which areas of the structure are under tension or compression?

  I have a structure which has been squashed and I want to see which areas of the structure are under tension and which areas of the structure are under compression. Also specifically how much tension and compression is seen in that specific area.nIs there a tool which you can use in ANSYS mechanical to do this?.

  As far as I know there is no such output.nnOne could use perhaps, the sigma 1 so first principal stress to see tension, and sigma 3 so the minimum principal stress to look at compression.nnAlso directional stresses (X,Y,Z,...) could indicate if we have compression or tension.nnHope this helpsn
