      Hi,

our customer has problem with Ansys Discovery SpaceClaim installation.

If he run setup.exe, new window only showed Ansys installation Launcher without other option (in screenshot). , But on my computer everything works OK (I have new window without Ansys installation Launcher, only license agreement).

He uses Windows 7 with administator rights. I use Windows 10.

He tried to install DISCOVERY_STANDARD_2019R2 and DISCOVERY_STANDARD_2019R1, with the same result.

Could you help me with the issue?

      Thank you, Lukas

Hi, could you check a support of Windows 7 with DISCOVERY_STANDARD_2019R2 and DISCOVERY_STANDARD_2019R1, because the version SCDISCOVERY_192_WINX64  works fine, without problems.

      Thank you, Lukas

This looks like the starting page of the installer for Discovery using an enterprise floating license.

Make sure the user has downloaded the software from within this forum at

I'm sure, that the user downloaded right versions. I tried to download and install DS 2019R2 and 2019R1 on his computer too, but without success.

I will ask about the support for Windows 7.  You're certain that the installer was downloaded from this Download page and not somewhere on the main ANSYS website?  I'm not sure how that screen could appear if it's not the wrong file.  There is a slightly different version on the ANSYS site that is configured for the ANSYS License Manager.

        Hi Brian,

yes, I'm certain, that I used the installer from the download page, because I installed the software on Windows 10 without problem and the same installation file I used to install on PC with WIndows 7.

I'm waiting on a response from the team that handles the installer.  I'm still not sure why the other screen appears in Windows 7.  Is there any difference in Windows administrator privileges?

Unfortunatelly, I don't know about Windows administrator privilege in the company, it is IT company policy, but I cooperated on installation with IT manager. That's interesting, that the version SCDISCOVERY_192_WINX64 works without any problems with W7.

Meanwhile user will use the version 192.

Please, let me know, if you will have some new information.

        Have a nice day, Lukas

The installation team said there should be no difference in the behavior of the installer on Windows 7 vs Windows 10, so I'm really not sure what the problem is at this point.

I have not heard of this issue from any other users.

It seems to me that the problem related with administrator permissions, but I don't understand that the version 192 was to install standardly.
Now, customer use the version 192,  untill he installs WINDOWS 10.

Yesterday with another customer, I installed, the DISCOVERY_STANDARD_2019R2 to Windows 7, without problem.

        Thank you.

Yes that is the most likely cause, since you have several other cases where the installation is successful.  Those permissions can be set for each individual user on the PC, so it's possible that even on that same PC another user who logs in may be able to install with no problems.  The best would be to consult with the IT administrator, if there is one.  Otherwise, look to disable Windows Defender, antivirus, and perhaps right click the setup.exe file and check in Properties > Security to make sure that individual user profile has "Full Control" when launching the file.

        Hi Brian Bueno

I solved the issue, In path must not be any special characters (á, ě, etc...)

        Thank you, Lukas
