I have recieved a new license for STK for 8/1/2023 to 7/31/2024.  I've gone into the License Manager and have completed the "Add a License File" and restarted the License manager.  However, when I start STK I still get a message that my license will expire in 41 days (the end of my old license).  When I look at the FlexNet Licenses is show my old AND new licenses.  Why do I still get an epiring soon warning when I start STK?

Hello Scott,

Is the new license a renewal key or a temp key that was added to expand the product usage with additional seats?

If the second case is true, then the product is using your soon-to-expire key first. It will not affect the usability of the tool. After the old key expires, the new key will still cater license (if the new key exists).

This is a renewal license.  Just to verify, since it is a renewal, I will continue to get warning messages until the old license expires and then the new license will go into effect and the warning messages will go away (on Aug 1, 2023)?

If so, is there anyway to test that ahead of time?  We have time during the summer to try to fix errors, but if the license transition does not go smoothly on Aug 1, we will have a harder time managing that.

You can simply go to the C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\licensing\license_files directory and delete the old ansyslmd.lic file. then launch the Ansys License Management Center and install the new license file. Once the new license is added, you should not see the message + the software should work without license error.

Can you post a screenshot or past the product lines in the old and new license?

I tried that, but my new license appears to have both the old and new licenses incorporated into one file...

Thanks for the clarification. You do not have to worry about this situation. Once the old one expires, the new license will automatically come into effect. The increments are used in the order in which it was printed. Since the older license increments are on the top, its getting used up first and throwing the expiry messages. You can disregard it and continue using it.
