Licensing Error

      Hello,

when i want to start Discovery i get an error message from windows saying "Ansys Licensing Interconnect Application. Modified for Ansys Release 19.0 does not work anymore - A Problem has prevented the application from running"

After waiting a bit, a window opens that allows me to sign in to my ansys account, however it then reports a timeout when trying to connect to the license server.

I have already opened all incoming ports for ansysli_client.exe in the windows firewall, but this didnt have any effect.

Do i have a problem with my company network blocking the connection or is there a deeper problem indicated by the crashing of the licensing application?

      Thank you for your help

      Best Regards Stefan

      Hello Stefan,

Have you installed Discovery Live tech preview version earlier? If yes, then can you uninstall it and see if it helps to overcome this issue?

In case it doesn't help, can you please send following files for further investigation:

      1. All files from %TEMP%/.ansys folder

      2. Below files from folder "C:Program FilesANSYS Inc"

      • install.err
      • install.log
      • install_licconfig.log

I'm having the same problem. Have you managed to resolve the issue yet?

The most significant problem we've encountered in activating so far is when there is a proxy server being used.

Please confirm with your network administrator that there are no restrictions on your connections to the internet.  The timeout when connecting to the server may be indicative of something being blocked.

If your internet connection is open, you may want to try temporarily disabling antivirus, firewall, and Windows Defender during the activation.

      hi

It does not help in my case..

Firewall and Windows Defender are disabled, but "can not connect to license server for licensing operation... can not connect to 50...@localhost" error still remains after loggin in "mysubscriptions"
