SubscriberHello Ansys, We have recently purchased Ansys discovery essentials and have installed. Presently we are using ANSYS structural license R19.0 for the simulation. So here we are missing some functionalities that were observed while using discovery SpaceClaim.
1) The geometry parameters(Parametric group) created inside the Discovery SpaceClaim 19.0 is not been transferred to the mechanical workbench. We could only see that geometry is transferred. But not the parameters defined in Discovery Essentials.
2) When the geometry component or static structural analysis geometry component is double-clicked on the workbench. We have not observed any kind of SpaceClaim that is opened and as well. We could not see the option when RMB on geometry component (Edit geometry in SpaceClaim).
Kindly let me if it is a limitation or any kind of option should I be activating to get the above functionalities

Ansys EmployeeHello Rajesh.R Please find below the answer to your observations: Associativity of Discovery SpaceClaim with Workbench (WB) is different than associativity of SpaceClaim Direct Modeler (SCDM) with Workbench. Discovery SpaceClaim is considered as an external CAD tool for Workbench while SCDM is one of the geometry handling tool of Workbench. If you have license for SCDM, parameters created within SCDM will directly appear on Workbench project page. Also, SCDM being geometry handling tool, you will see the option to open SCDM when you right click or double click on Geometry component. Since you have license for Discovery SpaceClaim, you need to follow the same process of importing CAD parameters as for any other CAD package. Below are the steps mentioned: 1. After importing Discovery SpaceClaim geometry on WB project page, right click on Geometry and select Properties. In Properties panel, delete parameter key in order to import all parameters defined in Discovery SpaceClaim. See below image:2. Next, open Mechanical. In Details panel of Geometry, click the box adjacent to parameter name (Group1 in this case) to have the parameter appear in Parameters Manager panel on WB project page. See below image.
3. The parameter is now available on WB project page as seen below:
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
