How to define a piecewise linear relationship between total slip and frictional stress?n

One can specify the behavior with coefficient of friction (not frictional stress) as a function of total slip, as we can do that with the TBFIELD command (with TB,FRIC): nhttps://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v192/ans_cmd/Hlp_C_TBFIELD.html nThe reason to bring this up is that frictional stress is usually not an input, it is an output. (Input is coefficient of friction.) We calculate frictional stress based on coefficient of friction times normal pressure - thus, frictional stress depends on the normal contact pressure, and it is not an independent quantity. We usually specify coefficient of friction, not frictional stress since frictional stress depends on the contact pressure.n-AniketnHow to access Ansys help linksnGuidelines for Posting on Ansys Learning Forumn
