LNG mixture – Boil off gas

      Hello,

I am working on the boil off phenomena that occurs in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage tanks.

I considered that the LNG is composed with 100%, now I want to insert the full composition of the LNG for example (88% Methane, 5%Ethane, etc.) and see which composition are going to boil first and how it is affecting the quality of our LNG.

Should I create for each composition two phases (Liquid-Vapor), set its initial volume fraction and create a phase interaction between the two phases?

      Example:

      Methane : 02 Phases: (Methane-liquid | Methane-vapor)

                         Initial Volume Fraction : 88%

Phase interaction : Mass transfer from Methane liquid to Methane Vapor

Should I use VOF, mixture or Eulerian for this study ?

      Thank you for yout help.

That is not easy. I recommend first of all to check the theory and afterwards to check beta features. That is the  Evaporation-Condensation Binary Mass Transfer Mechanism.
