SubscriberGood Morning,
We have just installed ANSYS 2019 R2 on the school server. ANSYS runs fine on my school office computer. However, when I use Microsoft Remote Desktop to work on my office computer from home I receive this error.
"Load Library failed with Error 126: The specified module could not be found."
The error occurs when the Workbench launch is at "initializing project" stage of the Workbench launch.
Is there something I need to change on my home computer to get the remote desktop to work with ANSYS?

Ansys EmployeeHi Phil,
Been a while, hope you are well.
I've seen past SR got fixed by roll back Windows update but I think what you can try first are to
(These are all on your office computer)
1. Reset Configuration by renaming the %appdata%ansys folder to anything else
2. Update graphics driver to latest version available from vendor website
3. Rerun prerequisites installation by going to your installed ANSYS directory , e.g., C:Program FilesANSYS Incv194prereq , then run all of the executable's inside this folder
4. Reinstall ANSYS products. Make sure you completely uninstall it first (wipe the entire ANSYS Inc folder).
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberWin,
I apologize for the delayed update. The start of this semester is hectic.
We have determined that the remote desktop is trying to access an older graphics card. We not sure why. But, my work around will be to leave a session open before I leave for the day. When I do that, remote desktop works fine. The error only occurs when I use remote desktop.
Thank you for your time.
Phil

Ansys EmployeeHi Phil,
No worries. Thank you for the update.
Can you try setting an environment variable QT_OPENGL with value being 'desktop' (without quote ' ') on your office computer and try again ?
Thanks,
Win
