We are trying to create the LSTC_SERVER_INFO file to send to Ansys in order to get new license file. We are using the instructions provided.  However, the file that gets generated is 0 bytes and contains no information.  Here are the instructions we followed.  Please advise.  Thanks, Brian

      Windows:

Install the complete LSDYNA package (500MB) which includes the LSTC License Manager

      Download:
      https://ftp.lstc.com/user/pc-dyna/R111/smp/CompleteInstal/

      User Name: user
      Password: computer

After you have installed the full LSDYNA package:

      • Open the LS-DYNA Program Manager
      • Go to "License Manager Menu"
      • Click Registration
      • Save and send the SERVER_INFO FILE to ANSYS to request/process your license.

Hello, could you also try with LS-RUN. Here is a tutorial:

      Hello Brian,

You can use LS-RUN as follows:

      You can download LS-RUN here:

      https://ftp.lstc.com/anonymous/outgoing/lsprepost/LS-Run/win64/

Note that LS-RUN also comes with the latest releases of Ansys Workbench.

      Hello Brian,

We usually use the latest LSTC license manager to generate the LSTC_SERVER_INFO file. Here is the latest procedure:

      https://ftp.lstc.com/user/license/License-Manager/LS-DYNA%20Win%20License%20Server%20installation%20and%20update%20Aug%2026_2.pdf

      username: user

      password: computer

Let me know how it goes.

      Reno.

      Hello Brian,

If this does not work, you will have to generate the license file in manual mode using the gmid.exe program located in the LSTC license manager installation directory. Here is the procedure:

      1. Open command prompt as administrator.
      2. Cd to the gmid.exe directory.
      3. Run the gmid.exe program:

      4. Copy all the output text to a text editor and replace "MACHINE" for "SERVER". Here is the example for my machine:

      5. Save the text file as LSTC_SERVER_INFO and send it to your Ansys account manager to cut the key.

Let me know how it goes.

      Reno.
