SubscriberHi all, I am using LsDyna for cutting simulation:
The area being cut is using Solid-SPG, the tools are rigid bodies and the contact between them is using Autonomic_Nodes_to_Surfaces.
The simulation results show that the SPG particles receive the contact force, but they don't move, they stay in place and penetrate the tool surface.
Does anyone have any guidance on how this should be solved? Thanks! -

Ram Gopisetti
Ansys EmployeeHi,
Try with non automatic node to surface contact with increased stiffness factors and use 4,3 types.
try using kernel 1 with ITB =3 and use SMSTEP =5 or lower in section SPG.
chers, Ram
