MacOS support ends with Lumerical 2020 R2

      Support for Ansys / Lumerical products for MacOS ends with 2020 R2. Rest assured that all your 2020 R2 installation will continue to function. It won't disappear from your Mac, nor will you lose any data. But here's what the end of support means for you:

      • Future releases (beyond the minor releases of 2020 R2) will no longer be available for Mac.
      • Phone and email technical support will not longer be available for the Mac.
      • No further updates to support content will be provided.
      • Most online help content will be retired.

      Why is Ansys doing this?

      Customer demand for Mac support has continued to be low over recent years. We can be more effective by shifting those resources to developing new features on our more popular platforms. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

      What are my options?

      If you choose to continue working in a Mac environment, we suggest you run Ansys / Lumerical products on Linux or Windows virtual machines. This will be supported provided you use a supported guest OS and a platform that supports virtualization. The list of supported platform can be found here. 2020 R2 releases will continue to support the following:

      • Sierra 10.12
      • High Sierra 10.13
      • Mojave 10.14
      • Catalina 10.15
