Good morning,nOur license is a mix of HPC, research and teaching tasks. License server is installed on a Linux workstation. Products ? Fluent 17.2 and Fluent 2020R1. nMany our problems use under 500k CVs and run on 16 cores or less. We want teaching tasks to be engaged for simulations of these problems and research tasks be used only for the problems with more than 500k CVs and/or running on more than 16 cores.nWe tried to use ?anslic-admin? utility to achive the above goal, but encountered the following problems: nUsing ?Set License Preferences for User ? ? to move ?ANSYS Academic Teaching Mechanical and CFD? feature above ?ANSYS Academic Research Mechanical and CFD? (no option to save the settings) doesn?t reach the goal - next time this option is open the sequence is still the same (?Academic research ?? is above ?Academic teaching ??). Accordingly, started single-core Fluent is shown in the license manager (?View Status/Diagnostic Options?->?Display the License Status?) as using ?aa_r? feature.nWhen ?Set Site Preferences->Specify Product Order? (under root privileges) is used to give priority to Teaching license before Research license for all users, then n (a) started single-core Fluent process indeed engages ?aa_t_a? feature, n (b) but starting Fluent on more than 16 cores fails and reports no appropriate license.nCan anybody advise how to tune the license manager to use ??Teaching? ? tasks when the problem allows that (i.e.. uses 16 cores or less, and 500 kCVs or less), but still have access to the research and HPC tasks when Fluent problem requires those.nThank you in advance!nYours,nDmitriy MakarovnHySAFER Centre (Block 27)n University of Ulster, UKnhttp://hysafer.ulster.ac.ukn

You can set this at the user level on each machine using License Preferences to set Teaching above Research on all of the preference tabs. You could also set this on the server by adjusting the Product Order to move Teaching above Research. This can be done in the SERVER ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility -> Set Site Preferences -> Specify Product Order. This will set the default checkout order, but Client settings will override the Product Order if set.nn
