SubscriberHello All,
I am getting the following error when I set a maximum member size value. It seems to be a very high value considering my mesh size is 2mm. And moreover, I do not understand the term "Maximal element radius". What does it mean and how do I control it in Ansys Mechanical?Best regards,
Kushal -

Ansys EmployeeDo you have a free tet mesh? If so, you can interpret the max element radius as an average element size.

SubscriberThank you Mr. Doyle.
Yes, I use a tet mesh and I can interpret the max radius value from the size. But my main concern is how can I control the radius? I want it to be as less as possible for the max member size constraint. For example in my case, even though the max element sizing I specify is 5mm in the local size controls, the radius is around 8-9mm. Is there anything else I need to do in mesh controls to reduce this?

Kushal

Ansys EmployeeCan you insert a "Sizing" constraint under the Mesh Branch and specify behavior to be "hard"(under advanced options in details window)?
It seems like your mesh is just too coarse.
