Maxwell statistical setup clean stop

I clean stopped a 2,500 iteration statistical setup in Maxwell 2022 R1 with about 600 iterations remaining, and when I resumed it by selecting "Analyze" on the statistical setup, it started over from the beginning.  Is there a trick to interrupting statistical setups and resuming them later, or is it not possible?

      Hi Brian,

If you do a cleanstop, Maxwell ends the analysis after completing the current solving pass/frequency point. You should be able to continue the simulation from where it stopped.

I hope you are not making any modifications to the model after the clean stop.

Since you have a large number of iterations, please check if you have enough disk space.

If you made sure of the above points. Check if this is happening with this model only. you can take another simple model with less iteration and check.

      Regards,

      Navya

I reached out to ANSYS help, and this was their response after playing around with my file:

"This random selection [this is in reference to the random generation of geometry data created by the statistical setup] may cause that “clean stop” does not work. The process needs to reselect a new group of data if it restarts.

I think it is a limitation and Maxwell does not support this “clean stop”  for this optimization method of statistical analysis so far, and we could see the error of “Statistical analysis failed” after clicking “clean stop”.

I could submit a defect to developer and see what they say. It takes time.

I could submit an enhancement request to keep solved data in this optimization method, but do not know if it could be completed in this optimization theory. Thanks."
