SubscriberHi I have a model with a cell amount of around 13 million, computer specification is Intel Core I7 and 16 GB RAM, is it sufficient? cause I've tried to calculate and the calculation didn't start. is the calculation will start eventually?

Ansys EmployeeHi,
The number of cells in your model does not directly determine whether your calculations will start or not. The size of your model may affect the memory requirements and processing time, but it's not the only factor. The specific requirements of your calculation will depend on several factors, such as the type of model, the complexity of the computations involved.
Hope this answers your question.
Thank you.

SubscriberSorry, i am really new to Ansys and so fluent. What might be causing the problem, my calculation is not starting yet. I only set it as 300 timesteps and now almost after 1 hour, the calculation doesn't start.
The last console writes:
step flow-time report-def-0
0 0.0000e+00 0.0000e+00
Updating solution at time level N...
done.
iter continuity x-velocity y-velocity z-velocity energy k epsilon h2o o2 time/iter
and it ended there
oh also I have this warning before
"
Warning: materials in neighbor cell threads (18 and 14) of
interior zone 3 are of different types (steel and mixture-template)."
might it be the problem??. Can you kindly help me to fix this warning and problem, i really appreciate it

Ansys Employee13M cells may require a bit more RAM. We used to expect around 1M cells per GB for the SIMPLE solver with no extra models beyond basic turbulence, but I've not checked this in several years. With the PBCS solver you're looking at 25-35GB depending on what else you're solving (species etc). Note, this is a very rough rule of thumb.
The other warning suggests you don't have a wall between the fluid and solid. That's not going to work, so please find that surface and change it's type in Boundary Conditions.
