SubscriberI need to analyse an aircraft (trainer--consider Cessna 172) with microstructures on its body (height slightly lesser than 1 mm)
How do I mesh such a small object, especially considering that the vehicle itself is insanely huge compared to the structure?
Also, what would be the best settings to choose on fluent for accurate lift and drag results?
Thanks in advance.

Ansys EmployeePlease note that with student version you can only generate 512K elements for CFD analysis.
If you want to resolve small structure, it would be very big mesh.

If you want to resolve such a small feature, you may need to refine mesh at that location. This would increase cell count. Another option is to isolate area around that small feature and mesh that area with refined mesh and then mesh rest of the area with coarse mesh. Here you will need to use non conformal mesh. Please go through help manual for more details
