Meshing and/or convergence issue

      Hi everyone,

I'm trying to simulate fluid (air) flows behind big machines (tractor and planter) using ANSYS CFX(steady state). I create atmospheric boundary layer(ABL) domain (100m length*25m height*50m width). The two machines are a bit complex geometry but I made some simplification. I create two small boxes inside ABL domain; the 1st one is to put the machines inside it so that I can make refinement around the machines. The second box is just after the 1st box in the wake region to make refinement to capture the flow details. All boxes are fluid. I don't need to mesh the whole volume of the machines rather ONLY the surface so I apply Boolean operation (subtract). I apply body sizing for each box, face sizing(machine surfaces) and inflation from machine surfaces.

But I'm not happy with the quality of the mesh and also the convergence is not good. Have a look some screen shoots below.

      Any idea/suggestion welcome!

From image it looks like there is jump between last prism layer and first tet cell. Please try last aspect ratio method. nnCFX experts can comment more on CFX side. nRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student Communitynn

Thanks keyur for your suggestion. But still the mesh quality and convergence is not improved!n Thank you,nnMuluke
