      Hi Friends,

I am trying to do meshing in a hydrant valve. I did a base line mesh with a element size of 0.001 m. After which I try to apply inflation with first layer thickness of 0.1m Iam getting error message. For your reference I am I have attached the geometry and mesh images. Kindly help me in this. Thank you.

As ANSYS Staff, we can not download attachments. Please upload images using upload image functionality. nIf you surface mesh is 0.001m then please use first height for inflation as 0.0001. nPlease see help manual for more details about these commands. nYou can find following video useful. nAlso please search forum as we have lot of posts on inflation. nRegards,nKeyurnGuidelines for Posting on Ansys Learning ForumnHow to access ANSYS help linksnn

Dear Keyur,nnThanks for your comments. I applied Inflation by using smooth transition with element size 0.001. But my orthogonal quality is less than 0.01 which poor. I tried using sizing with element size 0.0001m. But quality is becoming bad with this approach. Please help me in this. I have uploaded the images for your reference please find it.nn

Array nTo get a better mesh, spend time in CAD (such as SpaceClaim) simplifying geometry. For example, you could get rid of small dead end features like what I have circled.n

Dear Peteroznewman,nnThanks for your response. I will try remove those faces. n

Not just those faces, they are one example. Delete small gaps in 20 or 30 other locations around this geometry.n
