Mismatch of Nodes

      Hello
Have modelled a geometry of a submarines rescue trunk. All the surfaces are having a bonded contact. However while meshing, since in the region of interest i have made the mesh finer, the nodes of this mesh do not coincide with the coarse meshing nodes in other areas.
Is it going to effect the results? Is it necessary for the nodes to match? Wouldn’t the software calculate the results through interpolation?
To revalidate the same i modelled a simpler geometry and checked the results for both the cases where the nodes of mesh match and don’t. The difference in results was negligible.
Can someone help with some theory/ basis proving that there is no effect on analysis results incase the nodes don’t match?

It is not necessary to have a node to node matching while using bonded contacts. But it sure can help if the contact and target element sizes are near similar. Having too much difference can affect results. If you have compared the results with fine vs coarse mesh, that should be a good validation study.
