Modelling beams and shells in AIM

      Hello,

Could you please advise on how to model beams and shells in AIM?

The only related information which I could find was the post below, where I am getting the same error message.

AIM is not able to mesh beams in a mixed model

The error message being: "Beams and/or shells have been detected. Select the modeling option and use shared topology to ensure the beam ends and shell edges are connected."

However, shared topology was used in SpaceClaim, contacts have been generated and the mesh could be generated.

The transcript reported the following error:

      *** ERROR ***                           CP =       1.531   TIME= 14:41:56
A large negative pivot value ( -81.3586226 ) has been encountered in
the global assembled matrix at the ROTY degree of freedom of node 199.
This may be caused by a bad temperature-dependent material property
       used in the model.

May I please know if there is a way to find the location of the aforementioned "node 199"? The material used was structural steel.

      Kind regards,

      Jun

      Hello Jun

Upon investigating the model I noticed that there were issues with 'Share Topology'.

Once the topology is shared, you the assembly symbol in the Geometry tree changes as shown below.

Please find attached the edited model.
