Hi,

I've had a look through the forums and published material but haven't found a satisfactory answer to what I hope is a fairly basic question...! I want to trial Discovery Live but have a critical query.

Regarding internal flow problems:

Is it possible in Discovery Live to model only the fluid volume that I'm interested in, rather than including the surrounding structure? When I briefly tested the beta I couldn't find a way to do this, and equally now it seems all of the guidance material is geared towards importing a structure from SpaceClaim from which you can define the fluid volume within it to simulate.

My Fluent workflow includes only the fluid volume, so for Discovery Live to fit in here I don't want to have to build unneeded geometry.

Hello ben

While creating fluid solution, disable "Create fluid volume for" option and hit the "Create" button. See below image. This will select the fluid volume as the simulation body and you can define boundary conditions on the fluid volume and start the simulation.
