models used in discovery for compressibility and turbulence.

Hello, One of our DIscovery customers would like information on the models used in discovery for compressibility and turbulence. Regarding turbulence I think I found: default model: turbulent k-omega SST (not modifiable in explore mode but modifiable in refine mode) On the other hand I did not find any information about compressibility except that Discovery supports a slightly compressible fluid flow up to ~ Mach 0.3. Not being an expert in this field, can you tell me about the models used for compressibility in Discovery? (in Explore and Refine mode) Thanks

      Hello charlie

Currently Additional Fluid flow options are available in Refine mode only where you can specify modelling methods. For more information you can go through the help documentation:

      Turbulence Model Options (ansys.com)

For Compressibility I don't think there model used in Discovery, you can go through the help documentation on this as well:

       Compressible Flows (ansys.com)

I will check if I find more information on models used for compressibility in Discovery.

      Regards.

      Hello charlie

In Discovery we have compressible gas model (Ideal gas Law) only for gases. At moderate pressures fluids are not compressible so that does not need a model.

For applications involving high compressibility I would suggest you try using Ansys Fluent.

      Regards.
