SubscriberI have moved the license server from another PC to my computer and got the license manager running on my PC. Although it seems like that on the customer portal the designated PC is known as the server, I can not manage to get electronic desktop suite 19.2 run on my computer, encountering the following error:
Failed to check out license 'hfss_desktop'.
Cannot connect to license server (FLEXlm Error -15)
Failed to check out license 'designer_desktop'.
Cannot connect to license server (FLEXlm Error -15)
Failed to check out license 'q3d_desktop'.
Cannot connect to license server (FLEXlm Error -15)
Failed to check out license 'maxwell_desktop'.
Cannot connect to license server (FLEXlm Error -15)
Failed to check out license 'simplorer_desktop'.
Cannot connect to license server (FLEXlm Error -15)
Failed to check out license 'electronics_desktop'.
Cannot connect to license server (FLEXlm Error -15)
I really need this to be sorted soon. I appreciate any detailed information and solution.

Ansys EmployeeDid you specify your ANSYS EDT to point to the new license server ?
Make sure that the .lic file like C:Program FilesAnsysEMadmin*.lic is modified to reflect current license server info

SubscriberI think that is what the problem is about. I see three .lic files which point to the old server but I can not change them because of the ownership and administration!
Please help me further to fix this.
Thanks

Ansys EmployeeThe ANSYS EDT will look at all .lic files in that folder in the alphabetical order.
You can modify one .lic file in there and save it onto your desktop first, then just move the file back to the correct location to replace it.
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberHello,
Thanks for your help. It seems like that the problem is still there after having changed the .lic file (I changed the host name). I do not get the previously mentioned error anymore but when I try to open Electronic desktop it keeps loading and disappears ! like nothing happens, except I do not get errors this time.

Ansys EmployeeThis is the key error
Failed to check out license 'electronics_desktop'.
Licensed number of users already reached (FLEXlm Error -4)
it means it already connects with the license server just fine but the license is currently in use by others, so you can't use it at this time.
