      Hi,

I've performed a transient simulation of a flow over a propeller. I've estimated the angular velocity, by dividing the tangential velocity in output with the radius (Y-coordinate), but it results one order of magnitude less with respect experimental data, the simulation is 1 dof (rotation along z) and the fluid velocity is set to 1.1 m/s. It is possible due to material density which is set as constant while in real it is not ? I reach convergence during the entire simulation and no error occurs, so it sound strange. Simulation is running in order to reach the steady state.

      Hello Alberto,

I recommend you checking the boundary conditions . Please follow the video link on how to simulate transient flow over a blade . (5) How to Model Transient Flows in Ansys Fluent — Lesson 1 - YouTube

      (5) Tutorial — Transient Flow Modeling in Ansys Fluent — Lesson 2 - YouTube

I hope this helps you to perform transient analysis.

      Thanks,

      Hello Alberto,

Kindly check this Chapter 14: Using Overset and Dynamic Meshes (ansys.com) refer 14.7 on how to use the dynamic mesh settings.

      I hope this helps

      Thanks,
