Near wall modelling k-e turbulence model (y+ value)

      Hello Folks,

ANSYS CFX manual states that for the scalable wall function in the K-e turbulence model, the value for the y+ should be greater than 11.06, I guess that it lies in the transition region between the subviscous (linear) and turbulent (log) region, which provides a good estimation for the error involved in this model. In other blogs and references, it is stated that the y+ for the k-e should be greater than 30, which provides an even better estimation for the near-wall treatment.

So the k-e completely ignores the smaller layers (subviscous and buffer) and accounts specifically for the log-law layer?
