SubscriberHi all, I'm trying to simulate fluid flow through this geometry:
I have separated the solid into 3 distinct parts: the void, the outer cylindrical shell, and the interior.
Because I am using the students' version, I am limited to < 512k nodes. I can't seem to mesh the 3 different parts using 3 different element sizes. I'm thinking of adopting a coarse mesh for the cylindrical wall + interior but a refined mesh for the void space.
Can someone please help?

Ansys EmployeeWhat else are you modelling? I ask you'll only need the metal bits if you have heat transfer and you may be able to model a 1/4 or 1/8 section.

SubscriberHi Rob, thank you for replying. This is all that I am modelling. I’m trying to study how changing length and diameter of the little rods (interior) affect heat and mass transfer (I’ll account for reactions in later stages of this project). I considered exploiting the cylindrical geometry but I can’t seem to ‘fill’ the void for fluid region meshing when using only a quadrant.
