SubscriberHello
I am facing problem while simulating shock tube detonation (2d, transient, no inlets, no outlets)
After reflection of the wave at the wall there should be ignition or even detonation, however in my case the fractions of species remain the same in domain through whole simulation. I am using Hydrogen (2004) reaction mechanism from this page:https://www.universityofgalway.ie/combustionchemistrycentre/mechanismdownloads/
I am using Reaction Mechanism, Theromdynamics and Transport for "Import CHEMKIN Mechanism" in Fluent(Species) as .txt - is it ok? What is the problem of no ignition?
Moreover my residuals do not converge, what can I do besides mesh? Energy, y-velocity and h2o2 are above 1e+0 from beginning and after reflection everything ramps -

Ansys EmployeeDepending on which model(s) you're using you may need to patch a small region of high temperature or some product species into the domain: check the Users Guide for which.

Ansys EmployeeHi,
The extension files of CHEMKIN mechanism is .inp, .thermo and .dat. Try to open in these formats.

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation. Click here to join this event to learn how to leverage Ansys Fluids on the cloud, thanks to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS.
