No Material Data (green dots) in Material Explorer after adding new material

HI, i tried to add SU8 material in the existing material database.

Using the option 3D sample data imported from a text file with 16 rows that contained wavelength, refractive index real & imaginary.

I took the data from here: https://refractiveindex.info/?shelf=other&book=negative_tone_photoresists&page=Microchem_SU8_3000

But when i ran Material Explorer to do fitting, the Material Data (green colored) does not appear in the graph.

However, my graph and the graph from SU8 datasheet somewhat matches. (https://kayakuam.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/KAM-SU-8-3000-Datasheet-7.10-final.pdf)

You may try to disable and enable the "show material data" as your screenshot shows different from mine.

you can also use "extended view" with broader bandwidth to check it.

or you can use script to read out the data:

      getindex

      https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034409674-getindex-Script-command

      please try.

      Hi Guilin,

i tried to turn off and on the Show Material Data as per your advice, but still it didn't appear.

And i tried using the getindex via script editor. this is what i get.

i think it's not a good fit and how do i make it properly fit?

also, do you think that my initial wavelength, refractive index data is not sufficient as i have only up to 16 rows? perhaps i should add in more, say up to 50 or more?

      thanks for your help.

I tested a few times, and found that if the unit is wrong, meaning the displayed wavelength range is not the same as the data, it will not show the raw data, which is reasonable. This is why I suggest to have entended view. Whe you import the data, make sure choosing the correct wavelength/frequency unit which matchs with the data.

Please try the example file oline: https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034915093-Creating-new-sampled-data-materials-in-FDTD
