Non-Reciprocity in EME

I am runing a simulation in the MODE EME solver with 2 ports.

In all section I have dielectric waveguides.

In the reflection results, I am getting different values for s11 and s22 that were not expected.

      See figure below.

Can you give me an insight about what can be happening?

      Thank you,

Somehow the reply yesterday did not show here.

Since EME does not enforce the reciprocity, due to numerical errors of discretization and the field continuity such difference can happen. Further reducing the difference takes more time from converging testing, and it is not obvious which factors dominate this.

Hi Giulin, thank you for your reply!

Changing the EME tolerances can reduce the difference?

      Best regards

those tolerances are subtle to define, but can be helpful. At the same time you will need to check the diagnosis and see if it violates some physics too much.
Since the difference of the non-reciprocity is small, it can be challenge to reduce to very small level without trial and error.
