SubscriberHello all,
I have a question regarding NURBS surfaces. In our lab we recently have begun using NURBS surfaces created from organic CAD models created from converting STLs to STEP via Rhino 7's quadmesh process. This has resulted in very slow solver interations. The time to complete the solution has doubled to days compared to a few hours when we used models that did not involved these organic NURBS surfaces. Is there a reason for this ? When we remove the NURBS surfaces it is such a drastic difference in speed for solving the model. The meshing time for the NURBS surfaces are pretty fast with no issues. It is just the solver that we see these massive slowdowns for some reason. Thank you.

SubscriberHello Nikhil,
When you say tool do you mean cad tool ? I am using Rhino 7 to create these NURBS STEP models. They are imported to spaceclaim to assign face names and then sent to fluent with meshing for modeling. Thank you.
