Ansys EmployeeDepending on the solver 2022 should open most R15 files. Note, given the age of the files there is a risk that settings are very different so running that model on may be a little difficult. You almost certainly won't be able to open 2022 files in R15.

Ansys EmployeeVery unlikely, there have been too many changes in the 9-10 years since R15 was released.

Ansys EmployeeStudent is free, and you'll find 2023R2 to be the current version. 2022R2 will be available, but the licence will time out fairly soon.
Note, your University should be using an Academic version of the code, and if this is commercial there are other options: Student is for your learning, and not to replace either the University licences and must NOT be used for any commercial projects.
