Overset mesh & dynamic mesh

      hello!


      I am doing doing simulation using UDF for dynamic mesh. First I split the fluid domain in three different zone: Zone 1(the largest which represent the background zone for overset mesh), Zone 2 ( is the first component of the overset mesh and represent the dynamic mesh zone), Zone 3 (is the rigid body zone where the object subjected to dynamic motion is located. this zone also represent the 2nd component of the overset mesh zone.)


      For the dynamic mesh zone 2, I allow remeshing and smoothing.

      For the rigid body zone I used the UDF for the motion prescribed.

      My question is why is the simulation just stop after several iterations saying: error There are negative cells???????

      For overset, Can you please try with the boundary based method to see if the negative cell issue is overcome?

      you can also try to reduce the time step. Normally after the error of the negative cell, you can display the speed for example and see which cell has become negative, otherwise you can also display the meshes that caused the problem, I often had the error,
