Particular way/algorithm that Discovery Live places constraints on underconstrained models?

  Using the example of a uniform, fixed end cantilever beam and comparing that to the same beam geometry (without the fixed end), the results vary drastically.
  Is there a way to tell/approximate where Discovery Live puts its own constraints for analysis on the geometry's model?

  I'm not sure I understand your question/example.
  
  The results of an analysis of a cantilever beam with a fixed support on one end and a force applied to the opposite end would have to be different than the "results" of a cantilever beam with only a force and no fixed support.
  
  I'm not aware of any constraints being automatically applied to an under constrained model by the software such that the results would be realistic.
