PEM Fuel Cell ICEM Mesh Generation for Fluent Simulation

    • fmarrufo

Hello, I am attempting to run a simulation of a PEM Fuel Cell. I used ICEM CFD to develop a mesh for the geometry that I am using, however, when I imported the mesh into Fluent I noticed that there are multiple spots with missing cells/combined surfaces. This problem can be seen especially in the flow channels. I have tried refine the mesh by increasing the number of elements per unit of area... but still no luck. Can anyone shed some light on what might be causing this problem? I have attached images of mesh and geometry.

it may be mostly geometry problem in icem. why are you using icem? icem is mostly used if user wants hex mesh.

i recommend to use ansys meshing.

Thank you for this video. It was a problem with the contact surfaces in the geometry.
