Porous Flow Simulation: Resin Transfer Molding of Woven Fabric Model

      Hi,

I am trying to simulate the flow inside a mold in which a woven fabric structure is embedded. I have prepared the geometry as 1 part and 5 bodies (1 for w/o porosity, 4 for woven structure (2 wefts 2 warp) as porous zones ). The flow must be steady, laminar, single-phase, incompressible. Inertial resistance is neglected.

Here you can see the boundary conditions and created geometry:

If the fabric is a porous material you need to include that volume in the domain, but, ideally it's connected with the "open" space. If there are walls inside the domain check if there's a shadow, if not you need to revert to the geometry tool. Also check mesh resolution and cell quality: you're going to need a lot of cells in this model.

Thanks for the reply Rob, I resolved the issue. Just for the record, the problem was in geometry. I define the whole geometry as one part which contains multiple bodies including porous ones.

      Excellent. Thanks for the update.
