Problem of scale between SPACECLAIM and KEYSHOT

      Hello,

We have a problem with a customer who uses SpaceClaim and Keyshot pro through the plug in present in SpaceClaim.
There is a problem of scale which poses problem to make virtual reality.
The client models in spaceclaim, associates directly the materials of Keyshot in the interface of spaceclaim and then opens Keyshot for the rendering from spaceclaim.
In spaceclaim, we have for example (see image 1) a distance between two cylinders of 100 mm.
When we arrive in Keyshot, we can move one of the cylinders by a certain distance and to make them coincide we must make a displacement of 0.6 (see image 2)! What does not correspond to any translation of metric or imperial unit.

If we save the spaceclaim file in OBJ and then open it in Keyshot, there is no unit problem but the client loses the associated materials in spaceclaim... which is problematic for his need.

Have you ever encountered this problem? And do you have a way to solve it?

      Best regards

      Hi christophe VAISSADE

This behavior is seen as we don’t maintain exact dimensions between SpaceClaim and Keyshot.

At the moment I am not aware of another workaround other than using intermediate export format (as the customer already using).

      Regards.

      ok

Is it possible to make a request for improvement to maintain a notion of scale between the two software through the plug in?

You can suggest this in the ideas section Ansys SpaceClaim Ideas - Ideas - Ansys Discovery Forum
