SubscriberJust installed discovery live. When opening Discovery Live, the UI displayed does not match the UI shown on the tutorial videos. Most notably, the on screen icons and the 8 block window which is supposed to display when a new session is started does not display. It almost feels like the software is just running Spaceclaim but the window header is stating that Discovery Live is running a session. I can model parts using the modelling tools but cannot find the menus to start to drive any type of real time simulation. Of the two images, the one I see when I open Discovery live is the one with no on screen icons. Does anyone have any clues or tips around what the issues here might be?

Ansys EmployeeNeale It's difficult to say without more information. Does your hardware meet the minimum requirements for running Discovery Live? https://discoveryforum.ansys.com/t/801xrx/ansys-discovery-hardware-requirements That is a common cause for odd problems like this one. -

SubscriberThanks for your reply BBueno_ANSYS
I have run the hardware check files and the Nvidia graphics card and hardware all seems to check out OK. The software opens OK and I can model 3D parts it's just that I cannot see any of the features for running FEA etc... It's almost like Discovery Live has opened but it is only running the Spaceclaim side of the package.

You should also make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Go directly to NVIDIA.com and check for the latest drivers for your card there.

SubscriberWe have fixed our issue. I think some of it was our own doing. We installed Discovery Live as part of ANSYS 19. Discovery live would not run properly. We have now re-installed the Discovery Live elements separately and the software is now running OK.
