Q3D Capacitance simulation

      Hello:

I have build a capacitor structure which is shown below. Basically this sturcture is a U shape conductor(size 100 x 15 x 100 um) in the bottom and a T shape conductor(100 x 15 x 100 um) on the top stacked together. On the inner surface of the U shape conductor their is a thin layer of dielectric(10 nm).

For now, the system could identify the two nets of this structure correctly. However, the simulated capacitance is zero. I suspect the reason that cause a zero capacitance is because of the ratio between the size of the conductors and the dielectric is too big. Is there anyone know how to solve this problem?

      Thanks

      Hi Yushu,

What is the frequency of operation?

You may assign mesh operations to get a denser mesh in the areas might not a good mesh. Select the object, right click and go Assign mesh operations.. You may read about mesh opeartions and what they do in online help.

Also, It is likely that classic mesh would be better for this case. Right click on the Mesh in the Project manager, go to Initial Mesh. In the General Tab on the top, Select the Mesh Method to Classic.
