Query regarding Voltage vs refractive index and temperature vs index plot

      Dear Expert,

I have got the thermal properties of a new material where I have tuned the potential across the material and got the temperature profile throughout the layer but technically I want to see the refractive index variation inside the material with respect to the applied voltage and  Applied Temperature. Is there any way to do such things in FEEM solver? I have already extracted the thermal data in a Matlab file. Is there any way to utilize that file for the production of a refractive index profile as a function of temperature and Voltage? I will wait for a valuable suggestion from your side.

      Thanks and regards,

      Yes, FEEM can have

      https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042338014-Thermally-tuned-waveguide-FEEM-

      https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034918433-nk-material-finite-element-Simulation-object

Similarly you can import CHARGE result.

Please note that, FEEM may need specific data format (check the example) as it is a finite element mesh. Therefore you need to use the correct FEM dataset to create the matlab data file and then import it.

      Dear Mr. Guilin Sun,

As you suggested, I have successfully obtained the Voltage vs Temperature data in the form of a Matlab file (T.mat file) which is provided in the link: https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042338014-Thermally-tuned-waveguide-FEEM-.But, unfortunately, I am not able to understand the next steps of optical calculations which may give a plot of Temperature vs Refractive Index and or Voltage vs refractive index plot. How can I proceed with the optical calculations in that case? Do I need to create the same device for the optical calculations? How and where can I import this Matlab file to get the desired result? Please suggest.

      Thanks and regards,

Yes you should.  please refer to the links in my previous reply. Basically it sweeps the voltage or voltage points, so you will know the neff vs voltage or temperature (you may need to manipulate as it is not uniform) .

      Dear Mr. Guilin Sun,

      Just a little clarification,

Are you suggesting that the file  T.mat gives Voltage vs refractive index plot upon plotting?

      Thanks and regards,
