SubscriberHi
i am working on the behavior of FRP confined concrete under axial monotonic compresssion load, i have to model the behavior of concrete so i introduce the stress strain curve for the compression behavior by the model available in anays apdl wich is named multi linear isotropic harding plasticity and i used also the model "concrete" to specify the uniaxial crushing and cracking stress and the shear transfert coefficients
so my problem is ; the solution not converge and it show me error
could anyone hepl me to find solution to my problem
thank you

SubscriberHi
i try to model only concrete core in order to define the parameters of the behavior of concrete
when i introduce the value of uni axial crushing stress in the model CONCRETE aviable in ansys, the program stop at very early time step and show me an error message, it said that " rigid body motion can also occur when net section yielding has occurred resulting in large displacement for a small increment of load or when a buckling has occurred. you can plot the time history curve for node 97 in the UY direction to check for stiffness (slope of curve) approaching zero".
and when i turrned off the value of crushing stress in concrete model, the solution is done but when i check the stress in Y direction for the inner node at mi hight of the specimen i find the value of the stress higher then the value introduced in ansys.
at the outer node the stress is less than the uni axial crushing stress
thank you

Ansys EmployeeHello Sabrina,
As Aniket suggested, we are not allowed to download files from Student Community.
Is it possible to paste your APDL script here for understanding the reason for the error?
Best regards,
Rohith
