SubscriberDoes large deflection change the behaviour of the material in terms of force-displacement, by behaviour I mean completely rather than subtle diferences?

Ansys EmployeeHi,
No. Material behavior is only controlled by constitutive models. Large deflection controls the element and solution technology.
Large-deflection effects are categorized as either large deflection (or large rotation) or large strain, depending on the element type. It will only make your simulation more accurate. When your deflection is small, turning "large deflection" on and off will make little difference.
When you describe a material behavior, stress-strain should be used instead of force-displacement as the later one will also depend on geometry. So when you do have large deflection or rotation in the simulation, turning " large deflection" off will influence your force-displacement curve, but again the stress-strain behavior is only controlled by constitutive models.
Regards,
Wenlong
