reducing turbulence kinetic energy in bubble column

Hello, I have made a bubble column simulation in fluent, and its two phases with VOF model. I set a report as average turbulence kinetic energy (k) in total volume, and I got the k value at 0 seconds is not zero, and as time increases k is decreasing. I don't know if this is because of a problem with my settings or something else, does anyone know why the k is decreasing?

Hi Yutili, My first thought would be to check your initial conditions. That's really the only way you can have k at the onset of the problem.

      Good Luck

Hi Pat, my boundary conditions are 4 air injection nozzles with velocity inlet and a pressure outlet. Should I correct the k to 0 or a very small value when I do the initialization?

Hi yutili, I got you. You could, use small values, but also if you aren't concerned about the initial time point, I wouldn't worry too much about things (unless your solution becomes unstable)
