SubscriberThere is a material model MAT 318 (MAT_TNM_POLYMER) that I am trying to use in LSDYNA R13. It gives me a termination error citing the reason as ‘unrecognized material model’. But this material model does exist in the model library in LSPREPOST and is also prescribed in the R13 manual as well. I wanted to enquire regarding the cause of this error because everything in my model is right.
I believe someone from LSTC/ANSYS can confirm this. Does this model require an additional license?
Will really appreciate feedback on this. Thanks!

Ansys EmployeeHello,
Usually, if a material requires an additional license it will be specified in the user manual. For example, *MAT_161-162:
I don't see *MAT_318 in the R13 nor the R14 user manual Vol II:
But, it is in our DEV user manual:
https://lsdyna.ansys.com/manuals/
You can try with R14.
SMP:
https://ftp.lstc.com/user/ls-dyna/R14.0.0/
username: user
passord: computer
MPP:
https://ftp.lstc.com/user/mpp-dyna/R14.0.0/
If it does not work, you will need a DEV solver. We cannot provide files via the Ansys Forum. If you need the DEV solver, please submit a service request (SR) on the Ansys customer portal:
support.ansys.com
Let me know how it goes.
Reno.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
You can build models using LSPP v4.9 and use any LS-DYNA solver (R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, DEV, etc.). If the material model is not supported by the solver you are using, then it is not going to work.
Let me know how it goes with R14.
Reno.
