Regarding the emission rate.

      There is an enlarged source of emission. Its dimension is around 50sq.km. Modeling of dispersion of pollutant from such source is possible by forming 3d computational domain.nBut due to computational limitations, I want to carry out such simulation in 2d computational domain. This requires the emission from area source to be modeled as a line source. So, I calculated the emission rate for the area source and transported that value in 2d computational domain along a line source. Is this valid?nIf not, is there any valid method to convert the emission rate from area source in line source for 2d modeling.nIf so, kindly provide the method of such adjustment with some valid studies regarding the same as reference.nRegardsnAishwaryan

      A 2d model assumes the domain is 1m thick, and cells move from 3d (eg cubes) to 2d (eg squares). So you still need a cell zone to release the pollutants from. n
